Basic RPM Power Recorder and PC Software:
Operation and Application

In this self-paced course you will learn to use the basic features of the RPM Power Recorder and Power Analysis software.  The course covers installation and hookup of the Power Recorder outfitted with the full set of system options, including the Power Consumption, Multi-Session, and Harmonics and Flicker Measurement.  PC software covered includes: Power Analysis Software with the Professional Report Writer option.

The course has four modules:

        • Hardware and Software Specs, Connecting the Power Recorder to a PC

        • Power Analysis System Software Basics and Real-Time Monitoring

        • Long-Term Monitoring Data Download and Analysis

        • Exporting Data and Professional Report Writer

Each module contains a short interactive quiz.  After the last module, the quizzes can optionally be retaken.  Upon receiving a score of 80% or better, a certificate of completion may be printed out with the student's name.

Upon Completion of the course, you should be able to:

  • Set up the RPM Power Recorder and make measurement connections
  • Use the Power Recorder to make real-time  measurements
  • Load and use RPM Power Quality Analysis Software
  • Perform harmonic distortion analysis to identify synchronous power quality problems
  • Perform  waveform analysis and measurements to identify power quality problems and sources of electrical disturbances
  • Use the Professional Report Writer Option to generate reports
